Jason is the man! He is the the store manager and he has excellent customer service. He helped me get a problem fixed with my piece that I wasn't sure if it was even possible. Private Glass Blowing class for 2
Pros/Cons
1. Dustin is kind and cool to work with. You know that he loves doing what he does. I went to the store to set up a class prior to deciding to go with this place.
2. I liked the convenience of the location.
3. We did get a little hands on when we started ours piece . You could tell that he tried to give us some time to work but given that he had one torch to use I felt the counter was always counting down in his head.
4. The expectation set was much higher than what the class actually offered.
5. First 45mins he did a demo. I wish he made an example prior to us arriving. We had two hours and we just watched him make his demo in the first half.
6. Hygiene - was not really ok with blowing into a glass someone else put their mouth on
7. Safety- we wore glasses we should have wore safety sleeves. I could feel the heat on my arm and it was not comfortable to keep turning the glass and feeling the heat. Dustin is definitely experienced so you could tell he was very use to it!
Experience:
I went in about 2 weeks earlier to check out the place and learn about expectations . The expectation that was set was that we would be making a nice decorative piece that could be made via torch. I picked out two from the display of beautiful thing they had and he had set the expectation that we wouldnβt be able to too much detail work.
We got to the class - he said we would not be making that we would be making coffee cups. This was a surprise date night for my husband so I was disappointed but trying to keep positive. We wanted to know what they looked like and were trying to imagine it.
When speaking to other locations though, they did set the expectation but also said that we could make more than one smaller item. SO for $200 for 2 hours, essentially you may be watching someone do a lot more than you can do. But this art form is difficult and the person doing the work is definitely well respected in my eyes because the practice that goes into it is phenomenal.
Overall I would say we ended up with some cute tiny little cups. You probably canβt drink out of them more than a shot for example. It was a cool experience to see how the glass expands and you could also tell that Dustin loves doing what he does.

I just moved from PA and didn't know where to go when I broke my piece. I read some things and decided to take a peak. I walked in and met Jason who answered all of my questions. He was extremely easy to talk to and very informative. He knows his stuff!! He helped me pick the best one for me and when I asked where it came from he gave me the artist name and location and was very helpful. I will never go elsewhere and soon I'll be back to see Jason and take a beginners course in glass blowing there!! Stoked that I found this place!
